THE BIRTH OF A RIO ROSE
RIO FARMS

FLOWER GROWERS

Our farms are situated in the finest sub-tropical growing regions of Ecuador, Colombia, and Costa Rica. The Andean mountain range has premium climatic conditions, rich volcanic soil, and optimum light intensity, allowing our farms flower production to operate year-round.

DIVERSIFIED PRODUCTION

Our farms focus on the most popular and in demand varieties and color assortments each year by conducting their own internal and external research. This provides our farms with future forecasted trends and up-to-date information to provide you with the most optimum new products and varieties available.

BREEDERS CUT

Our farms utilize a “Breeders Cut” on all roses to encourage a more open and full bloom, more vibrant color, and to enhance the overall performance.

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

WE STRONGLY BELIEVE IN FOLLOWING SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES
FOR OUR FARMS IN COLOMBIA AND ECUADOR

Our practices actively protect our farms workers’ health and minimize agrochemical use to keep soil and waterways clean.

Sustainable Practices

Our greenhouse designs enable to harvest and utilize rainwater to irrigate our plants and treat our flowers.

Our farms drip irrigation systems have many benefits, such as being ecologically sound, promoting a healthier flower, and reducing pests, weeds, and harmful fungal growth.

It is estimated that 80% of the water our farms use for our flowers comes from rainwater reservoirs, minimizing the need to use water from rivers or wells.

TAKING CARE OF OUR PEOPLE

WE VIEW OUR EMPLOYEES AS OUR
MOST VALUABLE ASSET

  • Rio employs over a thousand people on its farms.
  • Nurseries are provided to support our employees who are single mothers, accounting for 80% of our total workforce.
  • We provide special programs such as family planning,
    educational programs, drug abuse prevention,
    and chemical management.

EQUITABLE WORKPLACE THAT SUPPORTS
FARMERS, WORKERS, AND THE COMMUNITY.”
