Winning Red Ribbon our Rio Grand Pastel is this year’s winner!

Rio Roses was proud to participate in the 140th SAF Annual Convention in Phoenix, connecting with floral professionals from across the country. A highlight of the week was when our Rio Gran Pastel Ranunculus earned a Red Ribbon, reflecting the quality and beauty we strive to deliver in every stem.

We also introduced standout varieties: garden roses Dragonfly, King’s Cross and Tip Top; standard roses Shocking Blue, Kendall and Silver Sand; and spray roses Jeanine and Rosanella. Beyond roses, we presented Delphinium Hybrid in Lavender and Light Blue, and the vibrant orange Lambada Ranunculus.

Thank you to everyone who visited us in Phoenix, shared feedback, and celebrated our Red Ribbon win. We’re excited to see how you incorporate these beauties in your designs.

Rio Roses at WFFSA 2025: Showcasing New Varieties and Innovations

We were thrilled to be part of WFFSA 2025, where we showcased some of our latest flower varieties and connected with industry professionals. This year, we highlighted new tinted roses for weddings, including the sophisticated Mocha Pearl and the enchanting Aurora Boreal, as well as luxurious new velvet tinted roses that add a rich, elegant touch to any arrangement.

Rio also introduced several exciting new rose varieties at the conference: Kendall, Bogart, Cancun, Shocking Blue, and Candy Cane. In addition to roses, we featured the Grand Iceberg Ranunculus, the vibrant Kiwi Mellow Dianthus, Alstroemeria, and our stunning new Anemone Full Star collection.

Rio Roses Wins Twelve Ribbons at the SAF 2024 Competition

Hundreds of professionals from across the floral industry recently gathered right here in Miami for the 139th Annual SAF Convention. It was three days of training, networking, and creative inspiration.

One of the convention’s highlights was the Outstanding Varieties Competition, where expert judges reviewed thousands of flowers from the world’s top growers. Rio Roses showcased many new garden rose varieties this year, as well as our new Cloni Ranunculus varieties. We are proud to announce that we received the second-highest number of awards, a total of 12, just two fewer than the first place farm.

Purple Ribbon Winner

We are excited to announce that Rio Roses won twelve awards at this year’s Society of American Florists’ Outstanding Varieties Competition, including one of the top honors: Best in Class.

Blue Ribbon Winners

We won six Blue Ribbons with our Rio Cloni Ginette Ranunculus, Rio Guardian White Delphinium, Rio Cloni Iceberg Ranunculus, Rio Queen’s Crown Garden Roses, Rio Princess Crown Garden Roses, and Rio Enchantment Garden Roses.

Red Ribbon Winners

We won five Red Ribbons with our Rio Country Spirit Blues Garden Roses, Rio Fascination (Baru) Garden Roses, Rio Cotton X-Pression Garden Roses, Rio Cute Enigma Garden Roses, and Rio White Anemones.

WF&FSA 2024 FLORAL DISTRIBUTION CONFERENCE

We were thrilled that WF&FSA was back in Miami for their 2024 Floral Distribution Conference. This year’s theme was “Fresh Connections,” and we certainly had those! From speed networking to activities like a golf tournament and a Miami Vice-themed party, we had plenty of time to connect and discuss innovative ideas with our floral industry colleagues.

Rio proudly featured new premium flower varieties at the conference: Absolute in Pink, Pink Sand, and VI Pink Roses; Queen Mayra, Peach Mayra, and Phoenix Garden Roses; Guardian White Delphinium; and Baby Creta Spray Roses.

It’s always wonderful to connect with others in the floral industry and learn new ways to move forward together in the coming year and beyond. Based on what we experienced at this conference, our future is very bright indeed!

Rio Roses Wins 4 Ribbons at SAF 2023 Outstanding Varieties Competition

Every year, the floral industry gathers for the Society of American Florists (SAF) Convention, a chance to connect, learn, and grow as professionals. This year’s convention, held in Phoenix, Arizona, was their 138th.

As always, a convention highlight was the Outstanding Varieties Competition, where a panel of expert judges reviewed thousands of flowers. They were looking for excellence in color and commercial appeal, stem and foliage, bloom form, bloom size, and overall quality/presentation.

Rio Roses was proud to participate in this prestigious annual competition and even prouder to win four ribbons for our premium varieties!

We received blue ribbons for our new Sweet Mondial Rose and new V.I. Pink Rose. We also received red ribbons for our new Star Platinum Rose and our new Lady Pink Cloni Ranunculus.

Congratulations to our wonderful team for producing these winning varieties!

Miami Swim Week & Rio Roses

Rio Roses was again front and center in fashion, showcasing our flowers at the annual Miami Swim Week. We partnered with Art Hearts Fashion, a globally recognized fashion show production organization, to present our beautiful blooms at this series of runway shows and events featuring the latest in swim and resort wear.

The floral design team outdid themselves for this fashion extravaganza, showcasing a tropical fantasy of blooms to align with the event’s theme. We created multiple arrangements, highlighted by a glorious arch filled with roses and tropical flowers. We even made the “Vogue” letters in flowers, set atop a row of pedestals.

We were honored to share the power of flowers with the fashion world and look forward to more opportunities to do so at future runway shows and events.

LA Fashion Week 2023 Show featuring Rio Roses

The fashion world was buzzing with excitement as Rio presented its breathtaking floral arrangements at LA Fashion Week. The design team went above and beyond, creating an enchanting floral arch that left everyone in awe. The stunning centerpieces added to the magic, showcasing the beauty and diversity of nature. Every detail was carefully crafted to ensure that the flowers’ vibrant colors and textures were on full display.

LA Fashion Week was an unforgettable experience for everyone who attended, with some of the most talented fashion designers and trendsetters coming together under one roof. The event was powered by The SOCIETY, a globally renowned fashion show producer. It was an honor for Rio to showcase our beautiful floral arrangements at this fabulous event, and we look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of floral design at future Fashion Weeks.

2023 Floral Distribution Conference

We were excited to see that WF&FSA’s 2023 Floral Distribution Conference was back in Miami this year. The theme was “the future in bloom,” and the conference featured fantastic opportunities for connection, learning, and sparking innovative ideas to move the floral industry forward.

Rio proudly featured some of our new premium rose varieties at the conference, such as the Rio Queens Crown Garden Rose. We also introduced new varieties in our X-Pression Garden Rose collection: Rio Cotton X-Pression, Rio Coral X-Pression, Rio Dark X-Pression, and Rio Cream X-Pression. Plus, we showcased our Rio Delphinium, Rose Lilies, Ranunculus, Anemones, and Rio Sunflowers — a massive hit with visitors.

As always, we were thrilled to see everyone at the conference this year and know that by working together, we can create a bright, blooming, beautiful future for this incredible industry.

Rio Showcases New Rose Variety at 2022 WF&FSA Floral Distribution Conference

The 2022 WF&FSA Conference, held right here in Miami, provided an excellent opportunity to network after what we can all say has been an “interesting” year for the floral industry. The conference’s theme was “breaking boundaries and bridging divides,” and that’s just what we need to move forward successfully.

Rio was proud to showcase several products at this year’s conference. The highlight was our new rose variety, the Rio Momentum. This impressive, bright yellow rose was on full display, giving off wonderful energy and bringing a positive vibe all around. We also featured Rio Pink Mondial and Rio Playa Blanca roses, Rio Ranunculus, Rio Anemones, Rio White Delphinium, and Rio Lisianthus.

It was fantastic to connect with so many other professionals and share the experiences and lessons learned over the past year. Most importantly, we discussed innovative ideas to help move the floral industry forward into what is sure to be a bright future!

Rio Roses Wins 13 Ribbons at SAF Outstanding Varieties Competition

SAF awarded a total of nine Best in Class ribbons at their 2021 Annual Convention. And Rio Roses was proud to win TWO of those ribbons — one of only two companies to achieve this.

The annual SAF convention is always a highlight of the year for the floral industry. That was especially true this year, at the 136th Annual SAF Convention in Orlando, Florida, as we were able to meet in person for the first time since 2019.

As always, the Outstanding Varieties Competition was a convention highlight. A panel of expert judges reviewed thousands of flowers across five categories: color and commercial appeal; stem and foliage; bloom form; bloom size; and overall quality/presentation. They awarded one Best in Show and nine Best in Class ribbons and presented dozens of blue and red ribbons.

As always, Rio Roses was proud to participate in the convention — and even prouder to win 13 ribbons at the competition! These included two purple Best in Class ribbons for our Baby Rio Babe Spray Rose and our Rio Hanoi Ranunculus.

We were also awarded a blue ribbon for our Rio Bicolor Lisianthus and ten red ribbons for the following varieties: Baby Rio Ilse Spray Rose, Baby Rio Porcelina Spray Rose, Rio Luciano, Rio Frutteto, Rio Kahala, Rio Playa Blanca, Rio Pavia Oriental Lily, Rio Corcovado Oriental Lily, Rio Zanella LA Hybrid Lily, and Rio White Delphinium.
